Hey everyone. Sorry it's been such a long time. The shop's been busy and I've been out recovering from surgery. My plan is to be back in the shop tomorrow.

Busy week

Where did the week go. We received 43 new batiks today, batiks are my favorite. When I opened the store over 6 years ago one of my goals was to fill our entire back wall with Batiks, we're almost there. We also received a fabulous floral from Blank Textiles in brown and teal and Loralie Cat Ladies, super cute. Our sales rep. was in today from Westminster Fibers and Free Spirit, we purchased some great stuff.

Moda has a fun collection Summer Fun. I couldn't decide which prints to buy so I bought the entire collection and it's due to arrive April 15th. Speaking of April 15th, we are having a Tax Free Sale. April 15th - 18th we are paying the tax on all merchandise purchases (excluding Handi Quilter Merchandise).

We have been receiving shipments almost everyday. It's fabulous!

Weekend

We had a beginning class on Saturday with Roxanne, the ladies taking it loved it and have picked a new project already. They really liked Roxanne so we scheduled a "It's Sew Roxanne" You can do the Candy is Dandy or anything else you'd like to do. This will be on Sunday May 17th. Just in last 2 weeks I have started several projects. A new Bargello Heart, A Big Block Bargello using Hoffman Batiks, a BQ2 using the Black/Sunflower Batik I picked up 3 bolts of last week. I wish I cold new as fast as I think of these projects. It's Sunday evening and I had a fabulous day with Melissa and Nicolas up in L.A. at the Farmer's Market. I'm signing off to go sew. Busy Week

It's been a busy week. I took another trip to Hoffman to pick up some more fabulous batiks. I just can't be trusted to go there. I had a full cart then I saw a pallet with new rolls of fabric not yet double and rolled. I put a some of what I had back and can't wait to go next week to see what they double and rolled. OK, you know your are a frequent shopper when you have to sign in and you were the last one there..We sent our application to Quilt's Inc. to be a vendor at the Long Beach show.

I have to send out a rumor control email about the Reindeer Dash and Spring Fling. That will go out in email. Gotta run, I'll try and post tomorrow.

Weekend

I had a great weekend, I hope everyone else did as well. Saturday was very busy busy at the shop and we had a very full class on the Cathedral Window taught by Rhonda. We did sell out of the fabulous batik fabric I picked up at Hoffman last week. I'll be on the road early tomorrow back to Hoffman to pick up the last 2 bolts Hoffman has on that fabulous sunflower black batik. I'm sure they will have other fabrics I can't love without so I'll let you know what those are tomorrow. Check back tomorrow for more news.

New Fabric

Today we got in some cute Halloween fabrics. A new line from Free Spirit. They should be up on our website tomorrow. The new Batiks and new Laga bags should be also.

You must come in, we are getting shipments everyday of new fabrics, books and paterns.

Free Sew

Wednesday's are our free sew days. 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. I went to Hoffman and pick up some of the most gorgeous Batiks I have ever seen. Hoffman has come out with some outstanding new designs and colors. I just can't stand it, I went for 1 bolt and Bali Pops and once again came home with a car full. I also went to Laga-Bags to pick up some more inventory. If you haven't seen these one of a kind handbags you are in for a treat. They are all individually, hand made in Indonesia by Tsunami survivors and the best of all they are made on treadle machines because they have no power. A large portion of the proceeds goes back to Indonesia. Purchase them from out shop for the best prices. "If you're going to carry a bag, carry one that makes a difference"

It's Sunday evening and a bit chilly. I've been sewing most of the day working on the girls dresses and a new Bargello Heart. I've made one before but I'm teaching a class on it so I thought I'd make another one. I love Bargello's. I'm off to Hoffman tomorrow to pick up some batik's and Bali Pop's that came in that have been back ordered forever. If any of you have seen the new Hoffman kit (beautiful) the border print is spectacular, I'm getting a couple of those bolts as well.

We're blogging, and got a button on our quilterscocoon.com homepage! It's a quiet night on the home front so I am working on my grand-daughters petal dresses. They are so cute. I'm not one for making clothes but if these turn out grammy (me) will make them some more. If I finish them I'll post a photo of the girls wearing them. Addison just turned 2 and Brooklyn is 10 months.

Hi Everyone,

I tried blogging one time before and, well, that was the end of it. I just didn't understand the blogging world. I've had so many requests to please do one so I will try and figure this out. Be patient with me..

The shop was a little slow this morning but picked up in the afternoon. We're having a lot of quilts being dropped of to be quilted. It's funny before the holiday's we were busy machine quilting but nothing compared to years before. Now, they are coming in everyday. No complaints though, keep em coming.

We have so many fabulous fabrics coming in almost everyday, we love it. Oh, and the books and patterns arriving are awesome. Stop in the shop or look on-line at www.quilterscocoon.com
